Understanding the Public Records tab within a case
Introduction
The Public Records tab provides a centralized view of a business’s legal and reputational information, helping underwriters assess risk and verify key data. It integrates multiple sources to display bankruptcies, liens, judgments, adverse media, and other verification data, including Google Profile matches and BJL (Bankruptcy, Judgment, and Lien) data maintained at the business level.
- First, navigate to the Cases tab and select the Case # to review.
- Next, locate and select the Public Records tab.
Public Records Tab Details
The Public Records tab displays the following information:
- Google Profile – Displays the business’s Google Profile, including a street view photo, Google Map location, and verification badges when the submitted business information matches the profile.
- Brand Management – Pulls in reviews from trusted sites such as Yelp, Google, and TripAdvisor, filtering out spam or bot activity (e.g., ratings with stars but no comments).
- Public Filings – Displays complaints, judgments, bankruptcies, or liens. BJL data is maintained at the business level rather than the case level.
- Adverse Media – Flags negative press related to the business or its principals, with direct links to the original articles.
